Following the failure of Nigeria’s senior football team, the Super Eagles, to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has sacked the technical crew of the national team.

Subsequently, the NFF said in a statement on Thursday that Technical Adviser, Augustine Eguavoen and the other coaching crew have been relieved of their positions with immediate effect.

RELIABLESOURCENG.COM reports that the Super Eagles failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup after a dismal 1-1 draw with the Black Stars of Ghana at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, on Tuesday.

The Ghanaians took the ticket on an away goal rule having held the Super Eagles to a goalless draw on Friday in the first leg at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi.

NFF’s Director of Press, Ademola Olajire, who issued the statement, said the NFF has also withdrawn the two-and-a-half years contract offered the coaches and terminated the appointment of the entire technical crew of the team with immediate effect.
