Nigeria’s Flamingos beat Germany, win bronze at world cup in India

Nigeria’s under-17 women football team, Flamingos, defeated Germany on Sunday in the third-place match to win the bronze medal at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India.

The match ended 3-3 in regulation time, leaving the winner to be decided via a penalty shootout. The Flamingos had the upper-hand ending the game 3-2.

It was a sweet revenge for Nigeria who had lost against the Europeans in their opening fixture.
