Nigerian-Biafran war

Fifty-one years after the last devastating mortar or bullet was fired, echoes of the Nigerian-Biafran war continue to reverberate.

And in what may have become a memorial to the nation’s darkest moments in history, the Nzuko Umunna, an Igbo think-tank group, is collaborating with some media organisations to proffer solutions as Nigeria continues in her quest for genuine national cohesion.

Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Rev Matthew Hassan Kukah, who recently held President Muhammadu Buhari and his administration accountable, to the raging insecurity in the land and for mismanaging the nation’s diversity, will set the tone for discussion as the keynote speaker.

Some other eminent citizens, including former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo; Chief Mbazulike Amaechi, Prof Pat Utomi, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Peter Obi, Alhaji Tanko Yakassai, Dr Hakeem Baba Ahmed and Dr Kalu Idika Kalu, have also been lined up in the second ‘Never Again’ conference, to commemorate 51-years of the end of the Nigerian-Biafran war.

The virtual conference on Zoom platform holds Thursday, January 14, 2021, 11.00am Nigerian time.
