David Ukpo Nwamini, the man in the midst of the detention and prosecution of Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice, in the United Kingdom has confessed to lying about his age.

RELIABLESOURCENG.COM gathered that the Westminster Magistrates Court where the Ekweremadus were arraigned on Thursday, was told by the prosecutor that the ‘Organ Donor’ is not a minor as he was said to have earlier claimed.

The court was said to have accepted that the kidney donor is a 21-year-old man and not 15-year-old.

The police authorities had accused Senator Ekweremadu and his wife of conspiring to bring a child to the United Kingdom for organ harvesting, saying the victim was a 15-year-old boy.

Ekweremadu, a former deputy president of the Nigerian senate and his wife were arrested by the British police on June 23, on allegations of human trafficking and organ harvesting that violate the country’s Modern Slavery Act. The couple, who was in court physically, pleaded not guilty to the chargesand the court has fixed August 4, 2022 as the date for the next hearing.
