The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered a review of allegations of bribery against Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari, by a United States court.

The United States District Court for the Central District of California had alleged that Nigeria’s international internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas, aka Hushpuppi, standing trial in the US, had used Kyari to arrest and jail a co-conspirator, Chibuzo Vincent, after the latter threatened to expose an alleged $1 million fraud committed against a Qatari businessman.

Kyari, a highly decorated and elite member of the IGP special monitoring team has denied the allegation.
