Hoodlums claiming to enforce the sit-at-home order by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) caused serious commotion in Aba, commercial nerve of Abia State, Wednesday.

The armed marauders who were combing the streets on motorbike created panic at Ngwa Road, by East Street, where they set a Keke (commercial tricycle) on fire. The Keke rider and occupants, however, escaped with injuries.

A resident of the area who sent in some images to RELIABLESOURCENG.COM said the incident happened in the morning when few people were on the road.

“They (hoodlums) invaded the road on motorbike, claiming to be enforcing sit at home order, in solidary with the detained IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Though, no life was lost, but many people injured themselves while running for their lives,” the source narrated.

According to our source, all the markets in Aba were completely shut down while movement of people on foot was very minimal.

“There is scanty movement right now, but it was serious in the morning. No markets opened. All markets are shut down. “No market opened today, except normal roadside trading of foodstuff,” our source further explained.
