Death toll in Ikoyi building collapse shoots up to 36

The death toll from the collapsed building on Gerrard Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, has risen to 36 as at Thursday morning.
Also, the number of victims rescued so far from the rubbles remains nine.
Out of the 36 deaths recorded so far, three are females while the remaining 33 are males.
This came as the recovery operation entered Day 4.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), announced this in a release on Thursday.

NEMA Acting Coordinator, Lagos State Territorial District, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, said the survivors include one female and eight males.
According to Farinloye: “36 dead and 9 alive.
“Out of the survivors, 1 female and 8 males.
“Out of the dead, 3 females and 33 males dead.”
Meanwhile, search and rescue operation continues at the collapse site.
