Soludo appoints Odinkalu, Bianca, Charly Boy, others in peace commission

 

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the duly elected governor of Anambra State.

Professor Florence Obi, Returning Officer for the 2021 governorship election, who made the declaration early hours of Wednesday, said Soludo, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), polled a total of 112,229 votes, to beat his closest rivals, Mr Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 53,807 and Senator Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who got 43,285 votes.

Senator Ifeanyi Uba of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) came fourth with 21,261 votes, despite winning one out of the 21 local government areas.

Soludo won in 19 of the 21 local government areas, leaving Ozigbo with one and Andy Uba not winning any of the local governments.
