The police in Kaduna have confirmed the gruesome killing of a Nigerian Air Force retired chief, Air Vice Marshal, Mohammed Maisaka, and his grandson, at Rigasa, a community in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The 27-year-old grandson, Mohammed Musa, a serving Airman, was said to be his grandfather’s orderly.

Kaduna State Police Command spokesman, ASP Jalige Mohammed, told RELIABLESOURCENG.COM that the Commissioner of Police, CP Abdullahi Mudassiru, has directed the Area Commander in charge of the Rigasa area to visit the family of the deceased air force chief.

Jalige added that “investigation has started with a view to arresting the culprits behind the dastard act”.

Unidentified gunmen, it was learnt, stormed Maisaka’s residence located around Markarfi Road in Rigasa around 8:30pm on Monday and shot him and his grandson at closed range.

The deceased air chief’s wife, Hajiya Fatima Maisaka, said the gunmen did not take anything from the house.

“They only came into the parlour and killed them both without taking any of our belongings. In fact, they left our phones with us.”

The retired air vice marshal, until his death, was the MD of MSK specialist Hospital Makarfi Road Rigasa. He left behind his wife, children and aged mother.
