JUST IN: EFCC arrests Femi Fani-Kayode

 

A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Fani-Kayode who just returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC) was sighted Tuesday at EFCC zonal office in Lagos.

He was said to have been arrested following ongoing investigation for alleged forgery and manipulation of documents.

Details of the allegations are not immediately available but the EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, gave a terse confirmation of his arrest, saying, “I think something like that happened.”

Fani-Kayode, alongside others, had been facing a 17-count of criminal conspiracy, fraud and money laundering to the tune of N4.9 billion, brought against him by the EFCC. He was later granted bail to the tune of N250 million.
