BY NICHOLAS ABE
The Federal Government of Nigeria has banned 100 international passport holders from travelling overseas, for the next six months.
Government’s action, announced Saturday by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, is said to be based on “Presidential authority”.
As part of the measure to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 within the country, the Federal Government had through the PTF, required all travellers coming into Nigeria to take a mandatory coronavirus test, seven days after they entered the country.
This is notwithstanding the fact that these same travellers must have tested negative for the virus before coming into the country.
An official COVID-19 test done in Nigeria costs N50,400.
