EFCC releases Obi Cubana after 3 days detention

 

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Thursday granted bail to Cubana Club owner, Obinna Iyiegbu, aka Obi Cubana.

The Anambra-born socialite, who arrived the headquarters of the anti-graft agency in Jabi, Abuja, Monday afternoon was released on Thursday evening.

He was arrested and interrogated for alleged money laundering and tax fraud.

It was learnt that he was allowed to go after the EFCC detectives completed their questioning.

EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed his release but gave no further details.

“Yes, he has been released this evening (Thursday),” Uwujaren simply said.
