Seyi Makinde, third governor to test positive for Coronavirus

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has joined the list of Nigerian governors who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease.
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed and his Kaduna State counterpart, Nasir El-Rufai, are currently in isolation having tested positive for the virus.
“I just received my COVID-19 confirmation test result. It is POSITIVE. I am asymptomatic and will continue to self-isolate,” Makinde announced on his Twitter handle Monday evening.
He added: “I have designated Prof Temitope Alonge, former Chief Medical Director of the University College, Ibadan, as the Head of COVID-19 Task Force while I recover fully.
“Please continue to comply with all the directives from the COVID-19 Task Force. Stay home, stay safe.”

Out of a total of 111 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in the country, Oyo State has so far recorded seven cases, third highest after Lagos and the FCT with 68 and 21 cases, respectively.
