Saraki speaks on EFCC arrest, detention

Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has left the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) facility and returned home.
EFCC had on Saturday in Abuja confirmed the arrest and detention of Saraki, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart.
The spokesperson of the commission, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said Saraki was invited for questioning over allegations of corruption and money laundering.

However, Thisday reports that the former senate president had left the commission’s premises Saturday night and back home in Abuja.
Saraki reportedly said there was no big deal in honouring an invitation by EFCC, an institution of the state.
“They asked to see me and after attending a wedding reception, I drove there myself. And when they were satisfied, they said I could go. That’s it.”
