Peter Obi now Labour Party presidential candidate as Pat Utomi steps down

Professor Pat Utomi, a presidential aspirant on the platform of Labour Party (LP), has stepped down for his co-contender, Mr Peter Obi, for the party’s ticket in the 2023 general elections.

Utomi, a political economist and management expert, announced that he was stepping down for Obi, former governor of Anambra State, on Monday, at the party’s presidential primary in Asaba, Delta State capital. With this development, Obi, who just resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and also withdrew his presidential aspiration on PDP platform, formally becomes the flag bearer of Labour Party in Nigeria’s 2023 presidential election.
