PDP chieftain Kashamu Buruji is dead

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart Kashamu Buruji is dead.
He reportedly died today, Saturday August 8, at the First Cardiology Consultants, Ikoyi, Lagos State, of COVID-19 related illness.
His friend, former Senator Ben Murray Bruce, announced the death of the Ogun State PDP chieftain on his Twitter handle.
Murray Bruce tweeted: “I have just lost my good friend of forever to #COVID19.
“Until his death, Sen. Buruji Kashamu and I were inseparable.
“He died today at First Cardiology Consultants, in Lagos.
“May his gentle soul rest in peace. I pray his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this heavy loss.”

First Cardiology has recorded a number of high-profile deaths from COVID-19. Foremost among the fatalities from this facility was Abba Kyari, the late Chief of Staff to the president, Muhammadu Buhari.
Also, the immediate past governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, died last month in the same hospital.
Kashamu, who represented Ogun-East senatorial district between 2015 and 2019 was said to have been admitted in the hospital for over a week and had a history of diabetes and high-blood pressure.
