Otti vows to ensure dream of Abia founding fathers realised

All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, says he would continue to work toward contributing his quota to the actualisation of an Abia envisioned by its founding fathers.
Otti’s avowed commitment was made when he received a group, “Women for Change Initiative”, which visited him at his country home of Umuru, Nvosi in Isialangwa South LGA, to pledge its support to the former governorship candidate in the 2019 election, in Abia State.
The former bank chief executive officer while responding to the goodwill message of the women group led by Mrs Jane Ogbauta, promised to continue to support the group and others alike, which are pursuing noble causes for the betterment of Abia State and its people.
He encouraged the women to remain peaceful and law abiding as they conduct their activities, saying no citizens of Abia State should be harassed or unjustly attacked for expressing their democratic rights within the ambit of the law.
Earlier, Mrs. Ogbauta had told Dr Otti that thousands of women across the 17 local government areas of the state, especially those in the APC, have resolved to give their unflinching support to his political aspiration because they believe he means well for Abia State.

She said their visit to him and their resolve to fearlessly stand by him was motivated by their desire to herald a new Abia where the interest of women would be effectively protected through good governance which, according to her, was presently lacking in the state.
She argued that women as the weaker vessels were usually the worst victims of bad governance in Abia State, hence their decision not to keep quiet but constantly demand for positive change.
Ogbauta recalled that as an APGA member, Otti stood by her and her group by personally reaching out to the then Commissioner of Police to provide them with security, when she and other members of her group were attacked by hired thugs in Aba, two years ago, even when Otti did not know her at that point in time.
She added that Otti’s acceptance across party lines is the ingredient required to restore Abia to Abians.
Also speaking, a senior citizen and chieftain of the APC from Isialangwa South, Chief Victor Amuta praised the women for their wisdom and courage to embark on the visit and assured them that 2023 would be a year of accomplishment for the APC in Abia State.
