Otti says lawmaker’s death robs Abia people quality representation

A former gubernatorial candidate in Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, says the death of the National Assembly member, Hon Ossy Prestige, has robbed the people of Abia State, especially Aba, of quality representation at the federal legislature.
Otti, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said he received the news of the death of Hon Prestige who represented Aba North and South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives with shock and sadness.
In a statement issued on his behalf by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, Otti explained that he was shocked because the death was both untimely and unexpected.
“Immediately after Hon. Prestige was flown abroad over his ill health, I held on with so much hope and confidence, believing that he would return in sound health to continue representing the wonderful people of Aba North and South, but my hope and expectations were shattered when the sad news of his passing filtered in,” he was quoted in the statement as saying.

The former bank chief executive officer regretted that Hon. Prestige’s death had created a huge vacuum and denied his constituents the wonderful representation he was offering to them before death came calling.
Otti added that the lawmaker’s death was once again a sad reminder of the ephemeral nature of human life hence the need for the living to strive to live upright at all times, since the next minute could be unpredictable.
He condoled with the family of Hon Prestige, his friends and the people of Aba North and South Federal Constituency over the death and prayed God to grant his soul eternal repose.
