BY IGWE OKOSO
Former gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2019 election in Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, is gradually emerging the rallying point for politicians from various party platforms in Abia State.
Otti, who recently announced his resignation from APGA, yesterday Friday, August 7, hosted political leaders across party divides, after the burial ceremony of an illustrious son of Arochukwu, Dr. Nkemka Jombo-Ofo, who died recently.
Jombo-Ofo was until his death a few weeks ago, the representative of the South East Zone in the Police Service Commission (PSC).
The burial witnessed the presence of many high-profile citizens of Abia State and Nigerians from different walks of life.
Prominent among the guests was the Senate Chief Whip, who is also representing Abia North and two-time former governor of Abia, Orji Uzor Kalu. Also, in tow were PDP big-wig former Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, Kalu’s predecessor at the Senate and another former senator and former National Chairman of APGA, Victor Umeh.
The party eventually shifted to the palatial ancestral home of Dr Otti, in Arochukwu, where the political bigwigs paid him homage and were entertained amid perceived horse-trading.
