Otti felicitates with Nigerians, says it’s a feat country remains united at 59

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate in the 2019 gubernatorial election in Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, has described as a great feat Nigeria’s continued existence as an independent nation.
He subsequently felicitated with the government and people of Nigeria on the nation’s 59th independence anniversary celebration, today.
Otti, in a statement issued in Umuahia and signed by his media assistant, Ferdinand Ekeoma, said despite all the numerous socio-political and economic challenges that continue to confront the nation, Nigeria had remained resilient.
He frowned at a situation where sectional and religious considerations still dominate our national discuss and general engagements, especially in sensitive leadership positions and political appointments, to the extent that mediocrity often overrides merit, at the expense of economic prosperity and general development of the country.
According to the statement, Otti called on leaders at all levels to take a cue from other nations, especially those countries that once trailed behind Nigeria, but who have through discipline, hard work and visionary leadership overtaken Nigeria in all facets of development.
He said such humble retreat would help the country to begin a new process of national rediscovery and reorientation that could see her propel to greater height, within a short period.
He specifically congratulated the people of his home state, Abia, for remaining consistent in their demand for good governance, which has eluded the state for a very long time. He enjoined them not to lose hope or succumb to the oppressive leadership foisted on the state by wicked agents. He also reminded them that consistent progressive push beyond political, religious and sectional platforms would be required to reclaim and salvage Abia state.
“I assure you that I will continue to lend my voice as well as take very practical and decisive actions in alliance with well-meaning Abia sons and daughters, with the utmost desire to develop the state, improve the welfare of Abians and ensure that God takes his pride of place in God’s Own State,” the statement quoted Otti as saying.
