Abia lost in race for greatness, a victim of visionless leadership - Otti

Former governorship candidate and leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has congratulated the two APGA candidates who emerged victorious in the state’s just-concluded House of Assembly election rerun.

Hon. Mike Ukoha of Arochukwu State Constituency, and Hon. Obinna Ichita of Aba South State Constituency were returned in the rerun elections.

Otti expressed gratitude to the electorate for restating their confidence in the APGA candidates, by electing them a second time.

He said that the victory was a confirmation that the duo of Ukoha and Ichita won their previous elections, adding that nothing short of victory had earlier been expected at the rerun.

Otti, in a statement by his media assistant, Ferdinand Ekeoma, on Wednesday, said Ukoha and Ichita’s victory should serve as a lesson to the political leadership in Abia State on the need to always allow the democratic process take its natural course and letting the people’s will prevail.

He called on the two legislators to continue to ensure that the people come first in all their legislative engagements.

Otti said he would continue to advocate for responsible and people-oriented leadership at all levels in Abia state, saying that his concept of “Leadership above politics” was the reason he had consistently endorsed and aligned with performing leaders and leaderships beyond political party considerations.
