Nigeria records 649 new cases of COVID-19

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced that 649 new cases of coronavirus infections were recorded across the federation on Wednesday, June 24.
The 649 new cases were reported as follows: Lagos-250, Oyo-100, Plateau-40, Delta-40, Abia-28, Kaduna-27, Ogun-22, Edo-20, Akwa Ibom-18, Kwara-17, FCT-17, Enugu-14, Niger-13, Adamawa-13, Bayelsa-7, Osun-6, Bauchi-6, Anambra-4, Gombe-3, Sokoto-2, Imo-1 and Kano-1.
Even though there was no report of death in the update published by the NCDC on its website, total deaths recoded till date rose from 533 to 542 indicating that nine COVID-19 related deaths were registered on Wednesday.
Overall, total confirmed cases across the federation currently stand at 22,020; discharged cases are 7,613 while total deaths are 542.
Only Cross River State is still without any confirmed case.
