Nigeria records 51 new cases of Coronavirus, 4 deaths in Lagos

As at 10:10 pm on the 17th of April 2020, 51 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria, according to the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

Till date, 493 cases have been confirmed, 159 cases have been discharged and 17 deaths have been recorded in Nigeria.

The 51 new cases are reported from eight states – Lagos (32), Kano (6), Kwara (5), Oyo (2), Katsina (2), FCT (2), Ekiti (1) and Ogun (1).

The four new deaths were all recorded from facilities in Lagos.

A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities, the NCDC reported in update on its website.

Also, the agency announced that it has conducted over 6,649 tests across the federation.
