Nigeria records 389 fresh cases of COVID-19

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said Wednesday Nigeria had recorded 389 fresh cases of COVID-19.

The NCDC added that five coronavirus related deaths were also registered on Wednesday.

Kogi State, one of the two states, out of 36 states of the federation, that had remained resilient to the virus finally caved in, recording two cases. With Kogi down, Cross River now becomes the last state standing.

Of the 389 new cases reported, Lagos State recorded a total of 256. Katsina reported 23, Edo 22, Rivers 14 and Kano 13. Adamawa and Akwa Ibom recorded 11 cases each. Kaduna had seven (7) while Kwara and Nasarawa registered six (6) each. Gombe, Plateau, Abia, Delta, Benue, Niger, Kogi and Oyo states recorded two (2) cases each. Imo, Borno, Ogun and Anambra made up the list with one (1) case each.

Till date, 8,733 cases have been confirmed, 2,501 cases have been discharged and 254 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the NCDC declared.
