Nigeria confirms 22 new cases COVID-19, over 5,000 samples tested

- As at 09:00 pm on the 8th of April 2020, twenty-two (22) new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria.
- Till date, 276 cases have been confirmed, 44 cases have been discharged and six (6) deaths have been recorded.
- The 22 new cases are reported from five states – Lagos (15), FCT (4), Bauchi (2) and Edo (1)
- A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
Also, the NCDC says over 5,000 tests have so far been conducted across the Federation.
