Malami rules out sharing £4.2m Ibori loot with Delta

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, on Wednesday ruled out sharing the £4.2 million Ibori loot, just delivered to Nigeria by Britain, with Delta State.
He said if Delta shares from the money Nigeria would be deviating from the agreement reached with the United Kingdom government concerning the disbursement of the funds associated with the family members of former governor of the state, James Ibori.
Malami spoke while answering questions during a Channels Television programme, Politics Today.

RELIABLESOURCENG.COM had earlier reported that the Federal Government had received £4,214,017.66 of the loot.
The Attorney General had during the programme listed the projects the money would be spent on, according to the agreement reached with the UK.
He said, “The way international diplomatic processes operate with particular regard to the recovery of looted asset is more or less about engagement among the nations of interest.”
