Lagos records 4 deaths from COVID-19, 62 new cases, discharge 22

The Lagos State Ministry of Health on Saturday confirmed four more COVID-19 related deaths in the state, making it 30 lives lost to the infectious disease.

The ministry, which disclosed this on its Twitter handle, however, did not give additional information about the age, sex, nationality, and medical history of the deceased.

It said: “Unfortunately, four #COVID-19 deaths were recorded. This brings the total number of #COVID-19 related deaths in Lagos to 25.”

Meanwhile, the state on Saturday while announcing that 22 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the infectious disease centres, also recorded 62 fresh cases, according to update published by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

Eight females and 14 males were discharged after fully recovering and testing negative for COVID-19. Nineteen of the patients were discharged from Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), two from the infectious diseases hospital (IDH), Yaba and one from the isolation centre in Lekki.

With the new cases, the total number of discharged cases is 247.
