Kidnappers still holding retired civil servant after N50 million ransom

A retired federal civil servant, Dr. Sule Audu, who was abducted by an armed gang over two months ago is still in captivity.
This is even as his family is reported to have paid over N50 million in ransom to secure his freedom from a notorious gang, operating between the Taraba-Benue border areas of Wukari and Takum.
According to a Daily Trust online report earlier today, family members of the kidnapped Dr. Sule are disappointed that the kidnappers are still keeping him notwithstanding the huge amount already paid for his freedom.
A family member who will not like his name mentioned said they have not heard from the elderly man for over one month now just as the kidnappers are demanding for additional ransom.
Meanwhile, two Jukun girls, a lawyer and three cattle merchants abducted two months ago have regained their freedom.
Daily Trust gathered that the abducted persons regained their freedom separately as their families paid ransoms.
All the seven persons were abducted at Kofan Ahmadu along Wukari – Takum road, an area where several persons have been abducted in the past months.
The spokesperson of Taraba police command, DSP David Misal, could not be reached for comment as his mobile line was switched off.
