Kano, next epicentre as Nigeria records 195 new cases of COVID-19

Kano State appears to be the next epicentre of the coronavirus disease in Nigeria after Lagos, going by the latest number of confirmed cases out of the state.
As at 11.50pm on the 28th of April 2020, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 195 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 while four deaths were recorded country-wide.
One new state, Nasarawa, has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
Till date, according to the NCDC, a total of 1,532 cases have been confirmed, 255 cases have been discharged and 44 deaths recorded in 33 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FTC), Abuja.

The 195 new cases are reported from 15 states – Lagos (80), Kano (38), Bauchi (15), Ogun (15), Borno (11), Gombe (10), Sokoto (9), Jigawa (5), Edo (5), Zamfara (2), FCT (1), Enugu (1), Rivers (1), Delta (1) and Nasarawa (1).
A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities, the NCDC announced.
