JUST IN: Nigeria records 117 new cases of Coronavirus

The Nigerian coronavirus numbers appear to have gathered momentum and Lagos, FCT and Kano are really hauling in the numbers.
As at 11:25 pm on the 21st of April 2020, 117 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria, according to the figure just published by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
Till date, 782 cases have been confirmed, 197 cases have been discharged and 25 deaths have been recorded in Nigeria, the NCDC said.
The 117 new cases are reported from eight states – Lagos (59), FCT (29), Kano (14), Borno (6), Katsina (4), Ogun (3), Rivers (1) and Bauchi (1).
A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities, the NCDC announced.

Meanwhile, the agency said five cases previously reported in Lagos State have been transferred to Ogun State. Therefore, Lagos has reported a total of 430 confirmed cases while Ogun has reported 20 confirmed cases in all.
