JUST IN: Four dead, three rescued as another building collapses in Lagos

Again, tragedy struck in Lagos on Friday as an inhabited three-storey building collapsed in the Mushin area of Lagos State, mid-afternoon.
In an update posted by the agency at about 10.47pm on Friday, on its Facebook page, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), which mobilised for search and rescue operation shortly after the tragic incident occurred, announced that four persons had been recovered from the rubbles dead while three others were rescued alive.
“Total casualties from the Collapsed 3-Storey Building: 3 adults rescued and administered First Aid treatment by the Agency’s Paramedics before being transferred to Isolo General Hospital for further medical attention while 4 adults were recovered dead and handed over to SEHMU for onward transfer to the morgue.

LASEMA gave the location of the collapsed building as, 2/4 Oyesonuga Street, Oye Roundabout, Isolo Road, Mushin.
Earlier on at the site of the rescue operation, the Permanent Secretary LASEMA called on the occupants of the adjoining part of the collapsed building to vacate as, according to the agency, “it is distressed and portends great danger” but some of them were bent on evacuating their properties.
