JUST IN: Abba Kyari drags FG to court

The detained former commander of the Intelligence Response Team of Nigeria Police, DCP Abba Kyari, has reportedly taken the Federal Government to court, asking to be released from the custody of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Kyari, on suspension by the police, following his indictment in a fraud involving convicted Internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas aka Hushpuppi, was handed over to the NDLEA by the police, after he was declared wanted by the drug agency.
RELIABLESOURCENG.COM reports that the NDLEA had declared him wanted on February 14, 2022, for allegedly being part of a network of illegal drug trafficking cartel. Specifically, he was indicted in a 25 kg Cocaine deal.

He was promptly arrested by the police and delivered to the NDLEA same day, alongside four other suspects.
Kyari, in his suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/182/22, is praying the Federal High Court in Abuja to compel the NDLEA to grant him bail on health grounds, pending the hearing and determination of his fundamental right enforcement application.
