Ikpeazu donates money, food items to Hausa community affected by #EndSARS protest

Abia State governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, Friday donated an unspecified amount of money and some food items to the Hausa Community in the state.
The donation, according to the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Onyebuchi Ememanka, is to help those whose sources of livelihoods have been affected by the ongoing #EndSARS protests.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Janet Agbede and a representative of the Army made the presentation to the leadership of the Hausa community in the state, on behalf of the governor. The relief materials included food items of various kinds and cash.
“This is a gesture of goodwill from the Governor and entire people of Abia State, and a practical demonstration that here in Abia, no one will be unfairly treated on the basis of ethnicity nor (or) religion,” Ememanka said on his Twitter handle on Friday.

According to the governor’s spokesman, Ikpeazu also Friday inaugurated a 12-man committee to ascertain the extent of damages and loses to public and private businesses with a view to working out a compensation plan, where practicable.
“As far as possible, the Abia State Government under the watch of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is committed to the welfare of all citizens who lawfully reside and do business in Abia State,” Ememanka said.
