How Globe Motors boss Willy Anumudu died at home

BY OUR REPORTER
Globe Motors boss, Willy Anumudu, died early Tuesday morning in Lagos, but not from coronavirus as had been speculated in some online and social media publications.
He was said to have died in his house in Ikoyi, Lagos, at about 4.00am, “following complications from chemotherapy he was undergoing for prostate cancer,” according to a reliable source who spoke with RELIABLESOURCENG.COM
Even though the high-profile auto merchant was said to have undergone a COVID-19 test in Lagos, as his case worsened, the result, we were told returned negative.
“He was to be airlifted to Germany today (Tuesday) for medical treatment but he died at 4am this morning,” our source informed.
Anumudu, who with his wife, Nkiru Anumudu, was a popular face in high society parties in Nigeria, did not have the pleasure of having his wife by him in his last days.

Another source who spoke with us said the 68-year-old Anumudu who hailed from Mbaitoli in Imo State, had returned to Nigeria sometime in March from a trip abroad, leaving his wife behind.
“He is always travelling, you know the nature of his business. He travelled recently, sometime in March and came back before the airports were closed in Nigeria. But his wife stayed back,” our source disclosed, obviously not reading any meanings to the question, when asked of Anumudu’s travel history.
