The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has allotted 43,000 seats to Nigeria to perform the 2022 Hajj, RELIABLESOURCENG.COM has gathered.

A source who spoke to Daily Trust on Wednesday, said the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) was working on an official statement on the development.

The allotted number is just about half the usual figure – 95,000 – allowed the country for the yearly religious ritual.

No fewer than 150,000 intending pilgrims are said to form the backlog for 2020 and 2021 and a fraction of the 2019 intending pilgrims that could not perform the exercise, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
