FG directs reopening of schools nationwide

The Federal Government has directed the reopening of schools nationwide.
Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, gave the directive at a press briefing in Abuja on Friday.
Adamu further said that schools must adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines for reopening.
The federal government had announced the closure of all learning institutions across the country, in March as part of steps to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease.
He advised all institutions to obey and adhere to the guidelines for reopening, earlier announced by the presidential task force which include the use of face mask, observance of social distancing and washing of hands amongst others.
He said all unity schools should resume by October 12, “while states and private schools will determine their own modalities of reopening.”
Many states including Lagos, Oyo, Kano and Enugu, have since announced dates for reopening of schools.
