Family, friends remember Ras Kimono @ One!

Family and friends of late Nigeria reggae star Ras Kimono are rolling out the carpets to mark the first-year anniversary remembrance of the passing of the artiste Monday, June 10.
The two-part event kicks off with a, “Ras Kimono Memorial Lecture” holding in the morning at the magnificent COSON House in Ikeja.
Delivering the main lecture titled, ‘Revolutionary Music for Equality & Justice’ will be Nigeria’s undisputed authority on Creative arts and a fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Letters, Prof Duro Oni, who until recently was Deputy Vice Chancellor at the University of Lagos.
Some of the highlights of the event will be the presentation of “Good-Bye Ras Kimono”, an updated version of the documentary on the life and times of Ras Kimono scripted and produced by Chief Tony Okoroji.
At the event, a new era of the Kimono legacy will begin with the launch of the 1st ever album of Oge Kimono titled, “Good Ole Days”.
The second phase of the Ras Kimono Memorial Day will kick off at 7.00 pm on June 10 at the famous Niteshift Colieseum on Salvation Road, Opebi, Ikeja. Lighting up the night will be the Ras Kimono Memorial Jam which will have a kaleidoscope of Nigerian artistes with performances in honour of their fallen colleague.
