Former National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd) and Revolutionnow promoter Omoyele Sowore have been released from the custody of the Department of State Services.

The ex-NSA’s lead counsel, Mr. Ahmed Raji (SAN), confirmed his release to THE PUNCH on Tuesday.

Dasuki was arrested by the DSS on December 29, 2015 and had remained in custody, in violation of a series of court orders issued for his release.

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, had earlier on Tuesday said he had directed the DSS to comply with the court order granting bail to Dasuki and the publisher of SaharaReporters, Omoyele Sowore.

Following the directive from the Federal Government, the Department of State Service (DSS) has finally released Dasuki and Sowore on Christmas Eve.

Sowore’s release was confirmed by his media outfit, Sahara Reporters, in a tweet. The tweet explained that his release came after the directive from the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.
