Controversy over who becomes new Olubadan

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, is coming out of isolation and returning to work fully today having tested negative twice for coronavirus.

The governor had gone into isolation last week after testing positive, a mandatory requirement as part of the protocol for managing the coronavirus infection.

News of the governor’s positive status for coronavirus had attracted a deluge of goodwill messages and prayers from well wishers within and outside of Oyo State.

“I am deeply moved by your prayers and support throughout this period. I am so thankful.

“This evening, I received my second negative test result for COVID-19.

“I am also grateful to all members of the Task Force for their cooperation during this time.

“I will be resuming my responsibility as Head of the Task Force from tomorrow (today),” Makinde announced on his Twitter handle Sunday night.
