COVID-19: First Bank alerts staff as 3 hospitals are shut in Lagos

Three private hospitals in Lagos State have been shut down, following their exposures to individuals who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease.
The hospitals all located within the Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos are: Premier Specialist Hospital, Victoria Island; St Edwards Hospital, Ajah and Vedic Lifecare Hospital, Lekki.
Some organisations which apparently have relationships with these hospitals have already alerted their staff of this development and asked any one of the staff who had visited any of the hospitals or been in contact with anyone who had visited them in the last 10 days, to identify themselves.
A First Bank of Nigeria internal memo sighted by RELIABLESOURCENG.COM dated 19 April 2020, issued by the Group Head, HCMD and addressed to all staff with the subject, ‘COVID-19 – Suspended Operations by Two Hospitals in Lagos State,’ reads:

The hospital in the notice dated Monday, April 20th 2020, advised customers and visitors who had been to the facility in the last 10 days to get tested for coronavirus and stay isolated.
“Dear Customers & Visitors,
“Approx 10 days ago, we had admitted a patient who was later tested positive for COVID-19 after he was discharged. We also had 2 staff members who tested positive yesterday (Sunday) evening.
“The patient and our staff are now being managed by the NCDC at their isolation centre. Till this moment they do not show any symptoms.
“All staff members have been maintaining mandatory PPE gear since the last 25 days.
“The facility is currently closed off for decontamination of the building. The fumigation was already carried out by NCDC on 18th April.
“We are currently testing the remaining staff members and will continue to update everyone on all platforms.
“If you have visited the hospital in the last 10 days, we request you to get tested and stay isolated,” the hospital stated in the notice signed by its management.
