BREAKING: Godwin Obaseki wins Edo governorship election

Edo State governor, Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, has been declared winner of the Edo State governorship election held Saturday, September 19, 2020.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the result of the election at 2.47pm from the commission’s collation centre and state headquarters of the electoral body on Benin-Auchi Road, Benin, Edo State.
Returning Officer for the election, Prof Akpofure Rim-Rukeh said Godwin Obaseki of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) scored 307,955 to beat his closest rival, Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who garnered 223,619 votes.
