President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughter who just got back from the UK has isolated herself in line with the coronavirus preventive measures.

First Lady, Aisha Buhari, revealed on her Twitter handle, @aishambuhari, Thursday afternoon that the president’s daughter returned to Nigeria “earlier today” and based on the advice of the Minister of Health she embarked on self-isolation.

“Based on the advice of the Hon. Minister of Health, Presidential Task force on COVID-19 and that of NCDC, she is on self-isolation, not because she displayed any symptoms of the Covid-19,” the First Lady tweeted.

She called on all parents to do the same for their children who are returning from overseas, especially the high-risk countries, adding also that she had shut down her office for two weeks while essential staff can work from home.

“Please I urge all parents to do the same if possible as prevention is better than cure. Similarly, I have shut down my office for two weeks with immediate effect while essential staff can work from home as a result of some staff who recently returned from the UK,” she said.

The First Lady commended governors of the North Western states, including Niger and Kwara, on the preventive measures she said they had taken to curb the spread of COVID-19 at their security meeting on Wednesday in Kaduna.

Mrs. Buhari called on Nigerians to follow diligently the advice and instructions as given by the Federal Ministry of Health and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) as these safety measures will help the country overcome the scourge of coronavirus.

She urged: “Let’s keep following the advice of the Federal Ministry of Health and the NCDC, which encourages maintaining social distancing, high hygiene culture through regular washing of hands with soaps and sanitizers.

“Let’s adopt preventive measures and ensure the safety of our families and that of General public.

“We will overcome the Covid-19 pandemic if we all take the necessary precautions at the same time!

“God bless you all. Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria!”
