The pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Dr Wale Babalakin, SAN, on Thursday resigned his appointment.

Babalakin who had been embroiled in a leadership crisis with the former Vice Chancellor, Prof Toyin Ogundipe and the Senate of UNILAG is resigning just hours after the Special Visitation Panel set up by the Federal Government to look into the affairs of the university submitted its report to the Education Minister, Malam Adamu Adamu, in Abuja.

His sudden resignation raises suspicion on the outcome of the investigation as sources said there may have been a recommendation for his sack.

Babalakin’s media aide Mikail Mumuni confirmed his boss’s resignation to the media.
