B-R-E-A-K-I-N-G! GODWIN EMEFIELE IS CBN GOVERNOR SECOND TIME OVER

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, any moment from now will be announced to retain his office for a second term.

Emefiele, whose first term will end in the first week of June 2019, confirmed to a gathering of Association of Assets Custodians of Nigeria (AACN) in London, today, that he will be serving a second term in office.

Meanwhile, President Muhammdu Buhari, according to THISDAY breaking report, may have sent a letter to the Senate President seeking the confirmation of the Senate for Emiefele, having nominated him for second term.

The CBN governor assumed office June 3, 2014, replacing now Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, who was fired by then President Goodluck Jonathan, in controversial circumstances.
