Incoming Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo

Incoming governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, may have signified the direction his administration will follow, if the ceremony to usher him into the Government House, Awka, is anything to go by.

With an unprecedented 80-member Transition Committee (TC), the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor had appeared a crowd puller. But the new Anambra Chief Executive Officer will be sworn in Thursday, March 17, 2022, before a scanty gathering of just 50 guests.

RELIABLESOURCENG.COM learnt from a source close to the Government House, Awka, that the austere event will hold at the foyer of governor’s office.

Outgoing governor, Chief Willie Obiano, on Wednesday formally handed over official government documents to Soludo at the Government House.

Obiano also conducted the new governor round offices in Government House. The ceremony was witnessed by the outgoing Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Solo Chukwudebelu and some aides of Soludo.

At the handover Wednesday, Obiano handed to Soludo documents containing assets and liabilities of the state, as well as ongoing projects across the state.

Soludo will be sworn in as the fifth civilian governor of Anambra State.

The ceremony RELIABLESOURCENG.COM was told is in line with Soludo’s wish that he would prefer a quiet oath taking ceremony, devoid of the usual fanfare associated with such ceremony.

It was gathered last night that the incoming governor would make his first key appointments after the oath taking ceremony.

He had promised that he would start work in his office immediately after the ceremony.
