Alhaji Tijjani Ibrahim Kiyawa

The All Progressive Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Jigawa central, Alhaji Tijjani Ibrahim Kiyawa is dead.

The Nation reports that Kiyawa reportedly died at a hospital in China where he was flown to. He was said to have been earlier admitted at a Chinese private hospital in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

He was a two-term member of the National Assembly, representing Dutse/Kiyawa Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.

He decamped to the ruling APC after losing his election in 2015.

In his condolence massage, Jigawa governor, Abubakar Badaru, expressed shock over the incident.

The governor described late Kiyawa as “a man of honour, a great leader, and a role model to the younger generation, who has sacrificed his whole life to serve the common man”.

Badaru said: “The death of Tijjani Ibrahim Gaya has come with a serious shock to me and indeed to the people of Jigawa state. Every soul must taste death. Our prayer is always to have a good ending and no doubt our brother has ended in a good after battling a protracted illness.”
