APC House of commotion! 2 acting national chairmen emerge

BY NICHOLAS ABE
Following the affirmation of the suspension of Mr Adams Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday by the Court of Appeal, Abuja, two party stalwarts have begun to lay claim to the office, albeit in acting capacity.
The Deputy National Secretary of the ruling party, Hon. Victor Giadom has declared himself acting National chairman of the party.
His declaration came a few hours after the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, issued a statement announcing the Deputy National Chairman (South), Senator Abiola Ajimobi, as Acting National Chairman.
Giadom said he assumed office based on a March 16, 2020 Abuja High Court order in suit no FCT/HC/M/6447/2020, which empowered him to act as the national chairman of the party.
The new “acting national chairman” who spoke at a press conference at the National Secretariat in Abuja, today, Wednesday, cancelled the screening and appeal committees on Edo State Governorship election.
He subsequently directed all the six aspirants to the party’s ticket for Edo State Governorship to report for fresh screening at the party National Secretariat on Wednesday and Thursday.
He also announced Deputy National organising Secretary, Hon. Muhammad Sani Ibrahim as the National Organising Secretary.
