An air of anxiety pervades Aso Rock, the seat of the Federal Government of Nigeria, over the health status of the President, Muhammadu Buhari, as his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, reportedly tests positive for the coronavirus disease.

Thisday online quoting a presidential source, reports that the test conducted on President Buhari was necessitated by the outcome of the result of the test on the Chief of Staff, which came back positive.

“The NCDC has informed the president on the outcome (of) his negative result this morning (Tuesday) in Abuja,” the newspaper reported.

Abba Kyari, according to a source who spoke to RELIABLESOURCENG.COM, had returned from a trip to Europe last week.

He was specifically said to have travelled to Germany but made a stopover to France on his way back to Nigeria, according to our source.

He was said to have shown signs of ill health on Sunday, at a meeting he attended.

“One person who sat close to him at the meeting said he (Abba Kyari) was coughing intermittently that the man who sat close to him had to distance himself from the Chief of Staff,” our source revealed.

As of the time of this report, the Twitter handle of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the official website for daily updates on the Covid19, had remained unusually quiet. Even the Federal Government of Nigeria official Twitter handle which regularly buzz with updates on government activities has also gone quiet.

There is yet to be an official confirmation or denial of the coronavirus test of President Buhari, which reportedly turned out negative and that of his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, which is said to be positive.
