Abia APC asks Gov Ikpeazu to sack Chief of Staff, Agbazuere

BY NDUBUISI UWAEZU
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State has called on Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to sack his Chief of Staff, Anthony Chidi Brains (A.C.B.) Agbazuere, who was recently caught in a viral video (Below) spraying the acrobatic preacher, Prophet Odumeje, with wads of Naira notes.
Following the scandalous video, Governor Ikpeazu on Sunday directed the suspension of Agbazuere from office.
In a single paragraph press release, dated 06/12/2020, the Secretary to the State Government, Chris Ezem, announced: “Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has directed the immediate suspension from office of the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr ACB Agbazuere.”
But the APC in Abia said it was surprised that the only sanction Ikpeazu could mete on Agbazuere whose action has been variously described as insensitive and mockery of the plight of teeming number of Abia civil servants and retirees who are being owed months of salaries and pension arrears, is a mere suspension.
APC subsequently demanded that Agbazuere should be sacked immediately.
“We’ve been complaining about the irrationality of the officials of this PDP led administration, but people don’t understand. What our people saw on video is just a tip of the iceberg to their squander mania nature.

“What the Chief of Staff to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu did was a huge slap on the faces of Abia health workers and other government workers that are being owed backlogs of salaries.
“He has insulted workers at HMB, Abia Poly and other people who are dying of hunger. He should be sacked with his sack letter made public.
“Nobody has (the) right to mock Abians in that manner as he did. So, the Government has money to waste while our people are dying of hunger with our state looking like war-ravaged zone.
“The Chief of Staff has money to throw around while our roads are now death traps? What manner of wickedness is this? We’re calling for two things today;
“Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu should sack his Chief of Staff without further delay, and let the Government render an unreserved apology to Abians between today, Sunday, and tomorrow Monday because this is extremely provoking,” Abia APC publicity Secretary, Benedict C. Godson, fumed in a statement on Sunday.
APC said Agbazuere “should be made to face the music” for his recklessness in spending money that did not belong to him, in the manner he did.
