The police in Lagos have confirmed that two, out of three passengers on board, died in the helicopter that crashed into a house in Opebi area of Ikeja. The third was said to have been evacuated to a hospital, having survived with injuries.
Lagos State police spokesman, Bala Elkana, told RELIABLESOURCENG.COM that there was no loss of life or physical injury by any occupant of the building, as casualty figure was restricted only to those on board the helicopter.
He said: “Two occupants on board the helicopter died; one was injured. No occupant of the building was affected. The crash occurred in the parking space of the house. There was no vehicle there.”
Elkana said the police have secured the accident scene, even as curious Lagosians troop to the scene without facial masks to catch a glimpse of the debris of the crash.
Meanwhile, the Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu and Commander RRS, Olatunji Disu, have visited the crash site to assess the extent of the tragedy.
